Big Girl Bed

Natalie will start the night in her very own big girl bed. I don't know if she'll stay there all night. I guess we know sometime between now and the morning. Posted by Picasa

Yeah for Joseph!

Joseph finally got to take the blue belt test that he missed out on Saturday when he was sick. As you can see, he passed. Posted by Picasa

Natalie does Tae Kwon Do

Natalie was following along as Joseph showed me some of the moves he had to do to pass the test for his blue belt. She even says most of the words for each of the ten steps. Posted by Picasa

Up to something?

Joseph picked out this T-shirt for Natalie. He thought it was perfect for her current phase. Posted by Picasa

Braces for Taylor

Taylor got braces on her top teeth today. So far, her teeth do not hurt too much, but the braces are bugging her cheeks. Her next appt will be in 8 weeks when we find out when the bottom braces go on. Rachel starts her treatment next week since she is out of town this week. Posted by Picasa

Approved Food?

I don't think that Joseph's head is on Taylor's list of approved foods now that she's got braces. Posted by Picasa

Who me?

Natalie was trying to sneak a piece of paper from the printer while she sat on my desk and chatted with me. I never have any paper in my printer because the kids take it all to draw pictures. I finally bought some cheap copy paper to keep the kids from using up all my more expensive printer paper, but Natalie remembers the kids taking it from the printer, so she does too. One Blue Boy

Joseph missed his Ta Kwon Do blue belt ceremony today because he woke up feeling like he was going to throw up. He eventually threw up twice, took a nap and was feeling better by later in the evening. He will get to test individually one day this week to earn his belt. Posted by Picasa

Resourceful Mom

I have found one more use for our baby gate. As you can see, Natalie can get up onto my desk. When I am not home, she seems to spend a lot of time decluttering my hutch. I was tired of always picking my stuff up off the floor, so today I used the gate as a blockade. It worked great! Posted by Picasa

Pretty in Green

I thought that Natalie looked good in this green shirt. I had to take around 10 pictures before I got her to smile. Posted by Picasa

Gymnastics Update

Taylor's scores from her meet two weeks ago:

Vault - 2nd place - 9.4
Bars - 6th place - 9.5
Beam - 9th place - 9.15
Floor - 11th place - 9.325 her personal best

All Around - 6th - 37.325 her personal best

Taylor's scores from today's meet:

Vault - 1st place - 9.625
Bars - 4th place - 9.05
Beam - 6th place - 8.0
Floor - 4th place - 8.625

All Around - 4th - 35.325

As you can see from the various scores above, different days with different judges and different age brackets can produce very different scores and event and all around placement. All of the scores today were on the low side compared to previous meets, we are not sure why. The meet two weeks ago seemed to result in a lot of higher scores for many of the girls.

Taylor has one more meet in 2 weeks before States in 6 weeks. Way to go Taylor!

Taylor having some fun

After a long day of gymnastics, Taylor wanted to start a project where she could relax and have some fun. She has started to make herself a scarf using Fun Fur and this rectangular knitting loom. The loom makes knitting so much easier. Posted by Picasa

Work in Progress

I'm working on this sweater for Natalie. The body is done and now I have to finish the neckline. I thought it was going to be way too long in the body and the sleeves, but it fit perfectly. I'll take another picture when it's completely done. Posted by Picasa

Finished?

I finished the neckline of Natalie's sweather, but I'm not very excited about how it looks. Not too bad since I've never knitted anything before and most of this project was created using a rectangular loom. The neckline was crocheted after the rest of the pieces were sewn together. I think I need to add a couple of rows of crocheting around the bottom of the sweater too. Posted by Picasa

Just Chillin'

Natalie is just chillin' here in this very cool T-shirt that she got from Mallory's trip to NYC. Posted by Picasa

Bailey's Ta Kwon Do test
