A Dirty Kid is a Happy Kid

It was a beautiful sunny day and we all spent most of the day outside.

Start to Spring

I moved 14 bunches of hostas from an overcrowded bed on the
side of the house to the backyard between the pool and the fence.

Opening Day for Baseball & Softball

Joe spent half of the day with Joseph and Bailey at opening day ceremonies. All teams got to run on the the field as they were announced. Then each team got it's picture taken for the web site and then played a one inning exhibition game. Later in the day, Bailey's team had it's first official game. They won 13-8. Joseph's first official game is Wednesday.

Saturday Volleyball

Rachel's volleyball team played in a tournament, winning all games except for one which put them in 1st place at the end of the day. WTG Syrens!!!

First Track Meet

Taylor made the middle school track team. She decided that she wanted to run the mile. She started out in front right from the start and never looked back. Here's her lead 2/3 around the first lap.

This is the home stretch as Taylor kicked it in gear to the finish line. Her closest competitor isn't even in this picture.

Taylor crossed the finish line in 1st place with a time of 6:46. The second place finisher was 26 second behind her. WTG Taylor!!!

Garage - Phase 2

I replaced my old garage pantry shelves this weekend with new ones that match the ones on the other side of the garage. The old plastic ones were starting to bow from the weight of the cans and bottles.

Snowy and Sunny

If you look closely, you can see big white flakes of snow in this picture.

A few minutes later, the sun came out while it continued to snow.

I have never seen it sunny and snowing at the same time, until today.

Spring is Here!

Baseball and softball practice started this week for Joseph and Bailey, so it must be spring. Opening day is the 21st and games start the following weekend.

Volleyball Filled Weekend

Mallory, Rachel and Taylor all played on different teams at five different locations in and around Williamsburg this weekend.

Taylor usually plays on a 12 year old team, but moved up to play with the 13 year old team for this tournament. Taylor did great for someone who is just learning how to play. Her team did not do so great, they didn't win a single game, but Taylor did get to play a lot.

Rachel's team only won two games on Satuday, but came back on Sunday winning three out of four games in the morning to make it into the top playoff bracket. In the playoffs, the team from Saturday came back and they lost, but at least won one out of the three games in the match. Rachel is showing great improvement from the beginning of the season. She will become a stronger player as her confidence in her ability to play builds.

Mallory had her best tournament yet. Joe saw more of her games than I did, but he said she was an all-city contentor this weekend. He got lots of great video footage so we can start working on her college video footage for this summer/fall. I will get to see more of her games when I download the video to the computer tonight. Her team also lost in the first round of playoffs. Mallory was disappointed to go out so quickly after playing so strongly in previous matches.

We have next weekend off from volleyball and then we have volleyball for the next three weekends after that. Taylor should play with the 13's team again on Apr. 7th. Mallory plays on the 14th. Rachel and Taylor both play on the 21st.
