Capitol Hill Classic

Rachel and Taylor's volleyball teams played in Washington, DC at a three day tournament over President Day weekend. Taylor's team came in 1st out of 64 and Rachel's team came in tied for 9th out of 82 teams. WTG both teams.

Another Birthday

Taylor turned 14 this year.

She had pizza and cake after volleyball practice with her teammates.

Birthday Week

Wednesday was Joe's birthday, Natalie helped blow out the candles.

Thursday was Bailey's 9th birthday, Natalie helped blow out the candles.

On Saturday, I made this cake for Bailey's party with her friends.

Volleyball Win

Rachel's volleyball team played in a one day tournament this past Saturday. They lost the first game of the day and then won all of the rest until the finals where they lost both games. Rachel didn't play in the first game of the day and then earned her starting spot in the rest of the games by playing great. The team ended up taking 2nd place for the day. WTG Rachel!!!

Another Basketball Win

I didn't get any pictures at Bailey's game today because I had Natalie with me. Bailey's team won 37 to 4, Bailey got 6 of those points. She got another basket too, but travelled so that one didn't count.

Basketball has started

Basketball season started for Bailey last weekend while we were in Richmond watching volleyball. Her team won 22-4 and she scored 4 points. Today, her team won 27-2, but Bailey did not score any points. She took a couple of shots but missed and got some rebounds.

Warm Again

I woke up a week ago to a very cold house (59 degrees). It was very cold outside, so I was hoping that the cold inside was due to the heat pump just not being able to keep up. Since we were going to be out of town all weekend, I didn't call the heat guy until Tuesday evening because the house was still cold. The diagnosis was that the air handler in the garage has died ( it was over 20 year old). A new one was ordered and delivered on Wednesday, but the install guy could not put it in until yesterday. Wednesday night I slept in the room over the garage with the kids where we have an auxillary heat/ac window unit. Finally, we are warm again, plus we have a new programmable thermostat. Yeah!!!

First 2009 Volleyball Tournament

Joe, Grandpa and I spent three days this past weekend in Richmond watching Rachel and Taylor play in their first travel volleyball tournament. We had a blast and spent 13-14 hours the first two days and 8 hours the third day watching volleyball. Rachel plays on a 16s team and Taylor plays on a 15s team. Rachel's team came in 19th out of 24, Taylor's team came in 5th out of 24. Both teams have a lot to work on for the next tournament.
